Starts 5 Oct
150 British pounds
Caversham Baptist Church Hall

Service Description

This course is to learn how to knit a traditional Icelandic sweater, which is knit in the round from the bottom up. We will be knitting the Stapavík sweater designed by Rakel, the Knitter from Iceland. During the course, you will learn how to - Knit continental style - Knit colourwork - Manage your different colours without everything getting tangled - Construct a sweater in the round from the bottom up that fits you - Graft stitches to create a seamless appearance - Knit short rows to raise the neck at the back (if you want) You’ll have homework in between sessions to get to the next part of the pattern and if you need support between sessions, that support is just a mouse click away! The pattern is knit on 7-mm needles, so you will see it grow nice and quickly! The knitting kit for the Stapavík sweater is available in the shop! It comes in 8 colourways or you could choose your own colour combination. Two round knitting needles (6 mm and 7 mm) and the pattern are included in the price of the workshop. Or you could upgrade and get an invaluable knitting needle kit available in the shop which is the ideal tool to knit an Icelandic sweater. Who for: if you already know how to knit and want to take the next step and put it all together. Maximum class size: 6 knitters.
