About Woolly Wol
Woolly Wol is a welcoming knitting community built around a simple idea, that making something with your hands, in good company, is one of life’s quiet pleasures.
Whether you’re completely new to knitting or returning to it after years away, Woolly Wol offers a space to learn, create and enjoy the process at your own pace.

Hello, My name is Irene and I love knitting
I am also passionate about teaching so the only logical next step for me was to start teaching knitting. I learnt how to knit from my grandmother when I was six and the first garment I ever knitted was a little cardigan for my favourite teddy Sofie (I can show you when you come to a workshop!). I knit mainly sweaters and shawls, with cables, colourwork and lace patterns, whatever the flow demands!
I’m originally from the Netherlands which is why Wol only has 1 o in it – Wol is the Dutch word for Wool!
Why Knitting?
Knitting has a rhythm to it. The gentle repetition of each stitch, the feel of the yarn in your hands, and the gradual building of something from nothing.
It’s a creative process, but it’s also a way to slow down.
Many people find that knitting brings a similar sense of calm to practices like yoga or meditation, a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and focus on something simple and satisfying.

Be the first to hear about new workshops, knitting inspiration and upcoming events.
