Stapavík Sweater Kit - Icelandic Wool edition

This item is the pattern and all the yarn needed to complete your Knitter From Iceland Stapavík pattern. The kit contains Istex Álafosslopi (100% Icelandic wool) so you can knit a true traditional Icelandic sweater.

The Stapavík Sweater is the sweater you will knit in the Woolly Wol Learn to Knit an Icelandic Sweater course. It is worked from the bottom up in stockinette stitch. The sleeves and body are worked first with colourwork at the bottoms of both the sleeves and the body. The pieces are then joined together to form the yoke, which is knitted with decreases up to the neck. Finally, the underarms are grafted together to form a seamless knitted appearance.

• Sizing: The finished size of the Stapavík Sweater in sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) is approximately 83 (89) 95 (101) 107 (113) 120 (126) 132 (141) cm. The measurements are achieved if the sweater is knitted in the correct gauge. Before beginning your project, measure yourself with a measuring tape around your bust (or your widest upper body part). If you like your sweater to be snug around your body, add approximately 5-10 cm to your body measurement, or if you prefer a looser fit, add approximately 10-15 cm to your body measurement. For example, if you measure 95 cm around your bust, you like a looser fit and you knit an L size, your sweater will have a bust circumference of 107 cm, which would give you a looser fit with 12 cm of positive ease.

  
  

• Gauge: 13 stitches x 18 rows in stockinette stitch on 7 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
