Hrauneyjar Sweater Kit

This item is the pattern and all the yarn needed to complete your Knitter From Iceland Hrauneyjar pattern. The kit contains Istex Léttlopi (100% Icelandic wool) so you can knit a true traditional Icelandic sweater.

The Hrauneyjar Sweater is worked from the bottom up in stockinette stitch. The sleeves and body are worked first with colourwork at the tops of both the sleeves and the body. The pieces are then joined together to form the yoke, which is knitted with decreases up to the neck. Finally, the underarms are grafted together to form a seamless knitted appearance.

• Sizing: The finished size of the Hrauneyjar Sweater in sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) is approximately 73 (80) 86 (93) 100 (106) 113 (126) 133 (140) cm. The measurements are achieved if the sweater is knitted in the correct gauge. Before beginning your project, measure yourself with a measuring tape around your bust (or your widest upper body part). If you like your sweater to be snug around your body, add approximately 5-10 cm to your body measurement, or if you prefer a looser fit, add approximately 10-15 cm to your body measurement. For example, if you measure 94 cm around your bust, you like a looser fit and you knit an XL size, your sweater will have a bust circumference of 106 cm, which would give you a looser fit with 12 cm of positive ease.

  
  

• Gauge: 18 stitches x 26 rows in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

• Colour combinations You can choose one of the ready-made combinations in this listing or choose your own, just let me know in the text box! The Brown, Green and Purple colourway is designed to be similar in Léttlopi colours to the Hrauneyjar Sweater handknitted by Irene from Woolly Wol in handspun yarn.
